Good Morning Humans!
Well…the word is that I like Athens… now, I haven’t slept in two days…and that may be influencing my impression…but I actually like it a lot here!
Now – Dubrovnic: Dubrovnic was awesome. On the bus to Dubrovnic, I met a guy, Marcus, and we ended up hanging out for the 3 days that we were there. Instead of the hostel, we were able to find a room in a great family’s home and hire that for the duration. It was great to have contact with local people – I learned a lot about Croatia’s history.
We were mostly in the old town area – and that was awesome. It’s UNESCO listed – so it’s very well preserved. And we visited the nearby island of Lukrum – which provided me with opportunities to jump off high rocks to the sea below – nice!
After a few days I headed for Montenegro to visit with Ron and Blanche Nyce. And Marcus headed for Sarajevo….and I just happened to run into him again here in Athens – in the same 4 bunk room – amazing!

P.S. I’ve still got another pic or two to post…but I can’t from this PC… coming soon.

Hi All,
I’m sorry for the lack of pictures as of late… I’ve got some picked out for you from the Tatras mountains – which were stunning! And I’ve got a few from Budapest as well.
But for now, I’ll hold off. I’m currently in Split, Croatia on the Adriatic sea and about to board a bus for Dubrovnic in the south. I plan to stay there for the remainder of the week and head into Montenegro early next week.
And I’m pretty excited about Montenegro. I’ll be visiting some folks who are Souderton, PA natives and have been in Montenegro and Kosovo for the last few years working with USAID and on their own projects. I’m excited to learn more about what they’re doing and possibly help out. I’ll let you know more when I get there
Take care all!
Nate
OK – I just added one quick pic for y’all. Since I’ve been on trains for the last 18 hours… :)
