Hi All!
I’m excited to finally get to a computer where I could setup the google earth link file…and now you can benefit! For those of you who don’t know about Google Earth, it is an amazing (and free) program that allows you to view the earth’s surface!
Anyway, to install the program, you go to : http://earth.google.com/ and click “Get Google Earth”. After you download and install as usual, you are ready to go! Note: MAC users are out of luck. This is PC only. :(
After you have installed Google Earth:
I will periodically post an article called “Here I am!” with a link in it. To see where I am, and where I’ve been, you click on the link to start the Google Earth software and fly you to my part of the globe. You will see a list of all the places that I’ve been on the left hand side. You can “check” them to show them on the globe and double-click on them to fly to that spot. You can zoom and pan to see details of the place where I’m at.
There is a small window called “layers” that you can set to see roads, borders, restaraunts, etc. on top of the map. I would suggest clicking “borders” at a minimum.
OK – please leave comments on this article if you have any problems…and I’ll try to answer them!
Have fun!
Nate
